Dear Colleagues
The Nuffield Council on Bioethics has published its Annual Report for 2013. You can view the report at http://www.nuffieldbioethics.org/2013/annualreport.php.
This report summarises a packed year of outputs, activities and developments related to the Council’s work. Alongside the publication of two timely and comprehensive reports and the establishment of three new core projects exploring significant contemporary bioethical issues, in 2013 a number of new activities were undertaken to further the reach of the Council’s work amongst wider audiences.
Highlights of our work that are covered in this report include:
- Publication and follow up of major reports on donor conception and novel neurotechnologies
- Progress with inquiries on biological and health data, children and clinical research and the culture of scientific research
- Examples of how the Council’s previous work is influencing policy in a number of areas
- The reach of our work and how it is being discussed and used by a wide variety of audiences including in sciences, health, academia, policy, professional bodies and the public sector, both in the UK and internationally
We hope you find the report interesting, if you would like to know more about our projects and activities please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries.
Best wishes,
Sarah
